Fangtai Town, affiliated to Hulan District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the east of Hulan District, connected to Erba Town to the east, Songhua River to the south, Shenjia Street to the west, and Kangjin Street to the north. In 2018, the regional area was 153.43 square kilometers and the registered population was 27,160. In the 37th year of the Republic of China (1948), the Fangmeterai Farmers' Association was established and stationed in Dafangtai. In May 1961, it was renamed Mitai Commune. In March 1984, the commune was transformed into a township. In June 1995, the township was transformed into a town. In October 2019, Fangtai Town had 10 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. Historical development

When it was first built, it was called Dahuangdianzi, which was shaped like a rectangular platform, so it was called "Dahuangtai" because the town government was stationed in Fangtai Village. In the first year of Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1736), it was named Dahuangtai. In the first year of Xuantong of the Qing Dynasty (1909), it belonged to the second section of the first district of Hedong, and the Dahuang Autonomous Prefecture was established. In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), Fangmitai Township (the third police district) was established In the 22nd year of the Republic of China (July 1933), the Dafang Taiwan Protection Office was established. In the 28th year of the Republic of China (June 1939), the Fangtai Village Office was restructured. In the thirty-fourth year of the Republic of China (December 1945), Square Metai District was established. In the 37th year of the Republic of China (1948), the Fangmeterai Farmers' Association was established and stationed in Dafangtai. In March 1949, it was renamed the Eighth District (Fangtai District) and was stationed in the Shen family in the east. In March 1956, it was divided into Fangtai and Dongchen townships. In September 1958, it was placed under the 28th and Dongshen 2 communes and was stationed in Dafangtai. In May 1961, it was renamed Mitai Commune. In March 1984, the commune was transformed into a township. In June 1995, the township was transformed into a town.

Administrative division

In 2011, Fangtai Town had jurisdiction over 10 village committees including Fangtai, Xiaofang, Gongjia, Gaojia, Tianjia, Songjia, Huanghua, Gaobao, Dongshen and Yulin, with 30 villager groups. In October 2019, Fangtai Town had 10 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
